How to play Bobble Skies
Game guide
Bobble Skies is a 3D flying adventure. Pilot Bobble's little plane through six worlds, swoop through golden rings, zip through glowing boost hoops and hunt for hidden crystals on the way to the finish ring.
The goal
Fly each world from the start to the big checkered finish ring. Finishing a world unlocks the next one. There are six worlds: Sunny Isles, Red Rock Canyon, Alpine Peaks, Sky Islands, Neon City and Volcano Isle.
Controls
| Left and right arrows, or A and D | Turn (the plane banks into the turn) |
|---|---|
| Up and down arrows, or W and S | Climb and dive |
| Space or Shift | Boost (hold it) |
| R | Back on course |
| P or Esc | Pause |
Your plane flies forward on its own. On a phone or tablet, put your thumb anywhere on the left side of the screen and drag it like a joystick: left and right to turn, up and down to climb and dive. Hold the lightning bolt on the right to boost.
Flying help is on at the start. It gently keeps your plane at the right height along the course when you are not climbing or diving, so you can focus on steering. You can turn it off in Settings. Settings also has a "Pilot" option that flips up and down, like a real airplane stick.
Three stars in every world
- Finish the flight.
- Find all 3 crystals. They glow purple on the round map. Some sit on top of cliffs or towers, some hide in side canyons, and some float under islands in the sky.
- Beat the star time shown under your clock.
You can earn the stars on different flights. Your best stars and times are saved, and your total stars go on the shared leaderboard.
Rings and boost
- Golden rings line the course in fun shapes: slaloms, climbs, dives and corkscrews. Each one adds a little to your boost meter, and a streak of rings gives extra.
- Big teal boost hoops give you a free burst of speed.
- Finding a crystal fills your boost meter all the way.
Checkpoints and crashes
Fly through each big checkpoint ring along the way. If you hit the ground, the water, a building or a rock, Bobble pops right back into the air at the last checkpoint and the flight goes on. When the screen says PULL UP!, climb. When it says TURN BACK!, you have wandered too far from the course.
Planes
Stars unlock new planes. Each one is a little faster and turns a little better: Bubble Hopper, Sunny Biplane, Mint Zipper, Midnight Jet, Lava Jet and, for pilots with every star, the Rainbow Royale.
Graphics settings
Bobble Skies has a real-time sky, sparkling water, glowing lights, shadows and lots of trees. Settings has High, Medium and Low graphics. Auto starts at the best look for your device and turns things down if the game runs slowly.
Tips
- Turn early. A plane cannot stop, so start turning before you reach a bend.
- Save boost for long straight stretches and use it to make up time.
- Crystals off the course are worth a detour on your first flights. Go for the star time on a later run.
- Look up in Alpine Peaks for the northern lights, and watch for fireworks over Neon City.
Bobble Skies is free to play in your browser on a computer, tablet or phone, with no download or sign-up. Your progress is saved on your device.
